Welcome back to “As I See It”.
I’m coming to you from my cabin on the beach in Cape Cod.
I’ve been wanting to come here, but this trip was not about wanting to come here. It was about needing to come here.
I’d had the draw to come here for some time. The feeling in my gut. Maybe all I dreamed of was here. Fame, Fortune, Love. Or maybe it was indigestion. Either way. I had to come check it out.
I’ve followed that feeling before, and it has brought me to the places that I was supposed to be.
It was a quick decision, long in the making. I booked a flight two weeks before I was to leave. I found a place to stay, the aforementioned cabin on the beach.
A week before I left, I reached out to an old friend who lives on The Cape. Maybe we could visit and I could meet his partner and his two children.
I’ve known Ian since he was five years old. He was a kindergarten friend and classmate of my oldest son, Joe. His mom, Terry, used to pick them up from school, and watch Joey. That was in the first Florence Ave house. Ian and Joe are now looking at 40, so I’ve known Ian for a minute.
I became very tight with both Terry, and Ian’s dad, Dennis. In what still seems an unreal occurrence, Terry passed several years ago. Her photo lives on my altar.
Not long after I texted Ian I received his response. He offered to loan me a car for my stay, and he offered to pick me up from the airport, An hour and a half drive, had it not been in Boston rush hour traffic.
Family.
We drove to his house, so I could pick up the car that he was loaning me. It was the car that he picked me up in. Of all surprises, it was Terry’s car that he inherited after she passed.
Being held by Terry in her car, I drove to my cabin in Dennis Port.
It wasn’t until the next day that I realized not only was I driving Terry’s car, but I was staying in Dennis Port. Ian’s papa, Dennis.
Signs, signs. Everywhere signs. I guess it wasn’t indigestion.
I’ve spent a lot of time here at the cabin, sitting on the Adirondack chair at the top of the steps leading down to the sand. Chillin’. Writing. Being.
I’ve driven around locally, and can even find my way around, sorta, without GPS.
My big adventure came trippin’ around Provincetown. Or as I now lovingly call it, Ptown.
What an amazing adventure that was.
Commercial St. filled with folks. A thin one way street, with way more people on it than cars. Art galleries as far as the eye can see. Artists painting en plain air. Musicians busking beautiful vibrations. Restaurants. Shops. Dispensaries. Clubs. Happy people. Fabulous people. Lots of couples. Same sex couples. Beautiful homes. Manicured gardens.
My take away about Provincetown is that it is a town where the kundalini energy rises proudly and joyously. Sexuality and creativity breathe the life into this town and it feels like freedom.
I am Blessed. Filled with gratitude.
Feeling watched over and guided.
Till next time,
Be Well
